Affiliate Marketing, SEO, Succeed in AM

Bollocks! I knew it was too good to be true. 3 days ago my affiliate site re-appeared in google’s SERPs and since then, sold 3 items. That was giving me real hope for the future. In the last 3 days I’d been averaging around 25 visits per day where, for the previous 6 weeks, I’d been getting only 2 or 3. Once the site reappeared in Google, visitors jumped to 25 and I sold 3 items in 2 days – happy days, ey? Nope..I spoke too soon. Today my site vanished from the SERPs again.

Visitors have dwindled again and my short and sweet glimpse of what could be has been taken away…oh the melodrama…it just proves that once again, one day you can be up and the next down. I had a sneaking feeling the google results wouldn’t stick. It just seemed too good to be true and as the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

This means I’m back at the start – albeit a few sales better off. I’m not going to write too much more in this post because there’s not much more to say other than that I am extremely frustrated but know that I should have known better when the search engines are concerend. You’re never on top of the game and every day should be another day of work that will sustain your rankings.

Now it’s back to the grind with links, content and more links.

Here’s to affiliate marketing!

Well, You got there once if only for a few days so you must be border-lining somewhere.. More content focused keywords relating to your products surely will get you back up there.

Thanks for the advice Mkz…I was kinda thinking I needed more backlinks to ‘justify’ my ranking because I feel the onsite SEO is pretty good whereas my link popularity is pretty poor…
